Organic Japanese Tea

Only around 5% of the tea grown in Japan is organic. We sell nothing else. Every tea here is JAS-certified and bought direct from family farms in Kyoto, Kagoshima and Fukuoka, then shipped Australia-wide and worldwide.

Where to Buy Organic Japanese Matcha in Australia

EdoMatcha is an Australian online tea store specialising in organic Japanese matcha, loose-leaf green tea and handcrafted teaware. Every tea is sourced directly from growers in Japan: ceremonial grade matcha from Ujitawara in Kyoto and Chiran in Kagoshima, alongside sencha, gyokuro, hojicha and black tea, chosen by founder Taka Kaneko, a certified instructor with the NPO Nihoncha Instructor Association.

Buying matcha for the first time? Ceremonial grade is what you want for drinking straight, whisked with hot water. Culinary grade is for lattes and baking. Our beginner's guide to choosing matcha powder walks through the difference, and our guide to making matcha covers the ratio, temperature and whisking technique.

Alongside the tea we stock the tools to prepare it properly: chawan matcha bowls, chasen bamboo whisks, chashaku scoops, Tokoname kyusu teapots, yunomi teacups and yuzamashi water coolers, or build your own matcha ceremony kit and save 10% on the set.

Orders ship Australia-wide and worldwide, with free shipping within Australia on orders over $100.
