Organic Loose Leaf Hojicha from Oku-Yame, Fukuoka

Organic tea farm in Oku-Yame, Fukuoka, where this hojicha is grown

From the naturally rich highlands of Oku-Yame in Fukuoka Prefecture, this hojicha is warm, toasty and gently soothing — roasted to bring out its nutty depth and comforting aroma, grown without pesticides or chemical fertilisers for over 40 years. The gentle roasting mellows the tea's character, drawing out a smooth sweetness while easing away any bitterness, creating a cup that feels calming from the very first sip. Naturally low in caffeine, it's a comforting companion for any time of day.

Weeds are cleared by hand. The tea plants grow freely, nurtured by clean mountain air and the quiet dedication of the farmers who tend them — sharing their fields with ladybugs, earthworms and butterflies. It's this harmony between farmer, plant and nature that gives the tea its character: grown with patience, and cherished cup after cup.
