Collection: Hot Water Coolers (Yuzamashi)
A yuzamashi is a hot water cooler. Pour boiling water into the yuzamashi and let it cool to your brewing temperature before it goes onto the leaves: about 70 to 80°C for sencha and matcha, and cooler still for gyokuro. A kyusu is the pot to pour it into for sencha and gyokuro.
Ours are made in Tokoname, in Aichi Prefecture, one of Japan's six ancient kiln towns, with about 900 years of kiln history. They hold from about 270 to 400 ml, and shape, colour and capacity vary a little from piece to piece.
Ships Australia-wide and worldwide, with free Australian shipping over $100.
