Tea Incense Burners (Chakoro)

A cha-kōro (茶香炉) is a Japanese tea incense burner. A few dry leaves, such as sencha, hōjicha or genmaicha, go in the dish on top. A tealight below warms them, and as they warm they give off a roasted-tea scent.

The Kirikabu and Shiro Kirikabu are Mino ware, shaped like a tree stump, and come with a wooden plate. The Kakewake is Tokoname ware, brown above and white below. Tealights and tea leaves are not included: our loose leaf teas are in Organic Tea.
