The Daichi Kyusu takes its name from Daichi (大地), meaning "great earth". Handcrafted in Tokoname, one of Japan's six ancient kiln towns with about 900 years of kiln history, this kyusu teapot is as grounded and enduring as the earth itself.
At 320 ml it fills two or three small Japanese tea cups (100 ml each). How to size a kyusu.
Tokoname clay is prized for its distinctive reddish hue and natural porosity. Qualities that subtly mellow the taste of tea with every brew. Over time, the clay absorbs the essence of your tea, making each Daichi Kyusu a deeply personal vessel that improves with use.

Each piece is made by hand, so the glaze on yours will differ from the photograph. That variation is the character of the piece, not a flaw.
