Hana-Karakusa (花唐草), the classic pattern of flowers on scrolling vines, on a small footed cup.

The Hana-Karakusa Yunomi is a footed teacup in Hasami porcelain: a deep blue ground covered in white scrolling vines and pale flowers with gold-coloured centres, pale blue-green inside, standing on a gold-coloured foot. It holds 90 ml. It matches our Hana-Karakusa Kyusu, and two of these cups come with it in the Hana-Karakusa Japanese Tea Set.

Hasami ware (波佐見焼, Hasami-yaki) hails from the town of Hasami in northern Nagasaki Prefecture, with a ceramic tradition spanning over 400 years. Today, Hasami remains one of Japan's top three regions by shipment value for everyday tableware, valued for its durable, easy-to-use porcelain.

Made in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.

Volume: 90 ml

Please note: glaze and colour vary slightly from cup to cup.

Each piece is made by hand, so the glaze on yours will differ from the photograph. That variation is the character of the piece, not a flaw.
