Hana-Karakusa Japanese Tea Set

Hana-Karakusa (花唐草), the classic pattern of flowers on scrolling vines. A blue ground with white scrolls and pale flowers.

The Hana-Karakusa Japanese Tea Set puts our Hana-Karakusa Kyusu together with a pair of Hana-Karakusa Yunomi, all decorated alike: a deep blue ground covered in white scrolling vines and pale flowers with gold-coloured centres, so the set looks right laid out together. The kyusu has a pale blue-green spout and handle, a flower on the end of the handle and a thin gold-coloured band at the shoulder. It holds 300 ml and has a ceramic strainer and a basket strainer. The two cups hold 90 ml each, pale blue-green inside, and stand on a gold-coloured foot.

Care: empty the leaves after each pot, rinse with hot water only, no detergent, and dry with the lid off.
