Fukamidori (深緑), meaning deep green. A round green mug with fine rings and a loop handle.
The Fukamidori Yunomi is a Mino ware mug in a deep green glaze, darker at the shoulder, with fine rings running around the body, a dark edge at the rim and a loop handle. The inside is dark green, so the cup rather than the tea is the show. It has the same round shape as our Nukumori Yunomi, in a darker glaze. At 350 ml it is a generous cup, and a rustic glazed mug like this suits the roasty teas, hōjicha and genmaicha.
Mino ware (美濃焼, Mino-yaki) comes from the Gifu Prefecture region and is the most widely produced ceramic in Japan, known for the sheer variety of its glazes.
Made in Mino, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
Volume: 350 ml
Diameter: 9 cm
Height: 8.2 cm
Please note: shape, colour and capacity vary a little from piece to piece.
Ships Australia-wide and worldwide, with free Australian shipping on orders over $100. See the full range of Japanese tea cups, or a kyusu to pour from.
Each piece is made by hand, so the glaze on yours will differ from the photograph. That variation is the character of the piece, not a flaw.
