Kin Hyotan (金瓢箪) — the golden gourd, a traditional Japanese motif symbolising good fortune and protection.

The Kin Hyotan Chawan is finished in a glossy black glaze, decorated with gold hyotan gourds bound in red ribbon and scattered with maple leaves and cherry blossoms in gold, red, green, and white. Hyotan have long been considered a lucky charm in Japanese culture, believed to ward off misfortune, making this bowl as symbolic as it is decorative. The rich black glaze and fine gold detailing give it an elegant, formal presence, well suited to both daily use and special tea gatherings.

Mino ware (美濃焼, Mino-yaki) originates in the historic Mino Province, now Gifu Prefecture in central Japan, with a ceramic tradition spanning over 1,300 years. It remains one of Japan's most celebrated pottery styles, prized for its rich variety of glazes, textures, and techniques.
