Matsugaoka Crystal is a handcrafted glassware tradition from Tsuruoka in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. Rooted in the Matsugaoka Reclamation Land, this art form carries a quiet legacy of resilience and renewal, reflecting the spirit of the region’s Meiji-era transformation.
Each piece is mouth-blown by local artisans, capturing the gentle irregularities, subtle air bubbles, and soft contours that make Matsugaoka Crystal so distinctive. Works of glass that reflect the enduring spirit of craftsmanship behind the Matsugaoka legacy.
