This matcha bowl is crafted in Japan using traditional Banko-yaki, a style of pottery originating in 18th-century Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, known for its durability, heat resistance, and mineral-rich clay.
It features a design inspired by Chōjū-giga, a famous set of illustrated handscrolls from Kōzan-ji Temple in Kyoto, celebrated for their lively animal scenes.
With its natural textures and subtle variations, each piece reflects the spirit of the Japanese tea ceremony and embodies wabi-sabi, the beauty of imperfection and simplicity.
