Beni-Sakura. A cherry-blossom pink cup on a leaf-shaped saucer.

The Beni-Sakura Yunomi is a Mino ware cup and saucer in a pale pink glaze that shades to white at the rim, the saucer shaped like a leaf with a pointed tip and a notched edge. The inside is the same pale pink. At 220 ml it is a sencha cup you refill through the morning, and the saucer makes it a gift that arrives complete.

Mino ware (美濃焼, Mino-yaki) is one of Japan's most celebrated pottery traditions, produced in the Gifu Prefecture region for over 1,300 years and known for the sheer variety of its glazes and techniques.

Made in Mino, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.

Cup volume: 220 ml
Cup diameter: 7 cm
Cup height: 8 cm

Please note: shape, colour and capacity vary a little from piece to piece. That is the nature of handmade Japanese ceramics.

Ships Australia-wide and worldwide, with free Australian shipping on orders over $100. See the full range of Japanese tea cups, or a kyusu to pour from.

Each piece is made by hand, so the glaze on yours will differ from the photograph. That variation is the character of the piece, not a flaw.
