Oribe Hime, meaning Oribe Princess.
Mino ware, or Mino-yaki, is one of Japan's most celebrated pottery traditions, produced in the Gifu Prefecture region for over 1,300 years. Among its many glaze styles, Oribe is one of the most iconic — a deep, copper-green glaze named after the 16th-century tea master Furuta Oribe, prized for its bold colour and painterly drips.
The Oribe Hime is a tea cup finished in a rich, dark Oribe glaze, with a textured, ridged pattern running around the body and a softly undulating rim. Streaks of pale glaze pool within the grooves, catching the light and adding depth and movement to the deep green surface. Its compact, gently rounded form makes it a lovely addition to everyday tea drinking.
