Kinari (生成り), the natural colour of unbleached cloth. A bowl-shaped teacup in cream flecked with rust.
The Kinari Yunomi is a rounded cup shaped like a bowl, with a soft crease down one side. Its pale cream glaze is flecked all over with fine rust-red and amber specks that run downward in streaks, the inside is a plain speckled cream, and the short foot is bare brown clay. It is a comfortable cup for sencha, hojicha or genmaicha, and it doubles as a small bowl for a casual serving of usucha.
Diameter: 9.8 cm
Height: 6.5 cm
Please note: glaze, colour and size vary slightly from piece to piece.
Ships Australia-wide and worldwide, with free Australian shipping on orders over $100. See the full range of teacups.
Each piece is made by hand, so the glaze on yours will differ from the photograph. That variation is the character of the piece, not a flaw.
