The Sekka Kyusu is reminiscent of grey and white stone, its surface marked with fine floral and dot motifs that recall snowflakes settling on rock. The muted, stone-like glaze brings a sense of natural serenity, making it as much a piece of quiet art as it is a functional teapot for daily brewing.

Tokoname ware (常滑焼, Tokoname-yaki) originates in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, one of Japan's oldest and most renowned ceramic traditions, dating back over 1,000 years. Present-day Tokoname is best known for its kyusu teapots, made from an iron-rich clay valued for its heat retention and porous qualities, said to soften and enhance the taste of tea. Each piece embodies the wabi-sabi philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection and nature.
