Ginga (銀河) — meaning galaxy, the constellation-like texture scattered across this bowl's dark glaze.

The Ginga Katakuchi pairs a deep charcoal-black glaze with a striking mid-band of fine, speckled texture in olive-gold and cream, resembling stars scattered across a night sky. A pouring spout gives the piece practical versatility, while the exposed clay foot in a warm brown tone grounds the design. The result is a bowl with real depth and presence — equally suited to preparing matcha or as a striking serving vessel.

Hasami ware (波佐見焼, Hasami-yaki) hails from the town of Hasami in northern Nagasaki Prefecture, with a ceramic tradition spanning over 400 years. Today, Hasami remains one of Japan's top three regions by shipment volume for everyday tableware, valued for its durability and the wide variety of glazing techniques its potters continue to explore.

Made in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.

Volume: 340 ml
Diameter: 12.8 cm

Please note: As each piece is individually glazed, variations in colour, texture, and pattern are a natural and celebrated part of Hasami ware's character.
