The Daichi Kyusu takes its name from Daichi (大地) — meaning "great earth" — a fitting tribute to the rich, iron-dense clay from which it is formed. Handcrafted in Tokoname, one of Japan's six ancient kiln towns with over 1,000 years of ceramic heritage, this kyusu teapot is as grounded and enduring as the earth itself.
Tokoname clay is prized for its distinctive reddish hue, exceptional heat retention, and natural porosity — qualities that subtly mellow the taste of tea with every brew. Over time, the clay absorbs the essence of your tea, making each Daichi Kyusu a deeply personal vessel that improves with use.
