Koke Kyusu, Japanese Teapot

New Product Sold out

Koke (苔) — meaning moss, the green tones that give this teapot its name.

The Koke Kyusu takes its name from its moss-green surface, evoking the quiet, natural imagery of stone gently overtaken by moss. Understated and organic, it brings a calm, earthy presence to the tea table while remaining a practical, everyday brewing vessel.

Tokoname ware (常滑焼, Tokoname-yaki) originates in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, one of Japan's oldest and most renowned ceramic traditions, dating back over 1,000 years. Present-day Tokoname is best known for its kyusu teapots, made from an iron-rich clay valued for its heat retention and porous qualities, said to soften and enhance the taste of tea. Each piece embodies the wabi-sabi philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection and nature.

Made in Tokoname, Japan.

Volume: 550 ml

Please note: The shape, colour, and capacity of each kyusu may vary slightly, a testament to the individuality and craftsmanship behind every piece.
