Iwa Yuzamashi, Japanese Hot Water Cooler

The Iwa Yuzamashi is a handcrafted hot water cooler made in Tokoname, one of Japan's six ancient kiln towns with over 900 years of ceramic heritage. Iwa (岩), meaning "stone," is reflected in its earthy, stone-inspired tones — a bold and tactile piece that brings quiet beauty to any tea ritual.

Temperature is everything in Japanese tea. Simply pour boiling water into the yuzamashi to cool it to your ideal brewing temperature:

Gyokuro: ~50°C
Sencha & Matcha: 70–80°C
Hojicha & Oolong: 90°C+

Each piece is individually shaped and finished in Tokoname, Japan, meaning no two are exactly alike — a true mark of authentic Japanese craft.
